Wood Buffalo National Park
Welcome to the largest National Park in Canada and one of the largest National Parks, in the World, the beautiful and grand Wood Buffalo National Park. This place has a human history dating back at least 8,000 years when the Aboriginal Peoples hunted the landscape. Wood Buffalo National Park was established by the Canadian Government in 1922 and is now a World Heritage Site that helps provide wildlife habitat to numerous threatened species including the peregrine falcon and wood bison. Some of the park's other wild inhabitants include moose, bears, foxes, lynx, and eagles, just to name a few.
For the recreational enthusiast Wood Buffalo National Park offers hiking trails of all skill levels, boating on the beautiful pine lake, excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, camping (both developed campgrounds and backcountry camping) and much more. Come out and explore!
