Welcome to Anchor River State Recreation Area in Anchor Point, Alaska. From this park the visitor can see 3 volcanoes across the Cook Inlet, Mount Augustine to the South, and Mount Ilamna and Mount Redoubt to the North. Augustine last erupted in March 2006 and Mount Redoubt in July 2009. 

Camping: Anchor River State Recreation Area has 5 campgrounds. The Coho Campground is located off of Anchor Point Road and has 26 campsites. The ADA accessible Halibut Campground is located on the shores of the Cook Inlet and has 30 campsites with no RV size limit. The Halibut Campground is also a great place for wildlife viewing opportunites where one may see bald eagles, beluga whales, and many others. The Silver King Campground is located on the banks of the Anchor River off of Sterling Highway and has 46 campsites. The Slidehole Campground has 30 campsites and is ADA accessible. And finally the ADA accessible Silver King Campground has 46 campsites. All campgrounds have toilets and picnic tables.

Included in this park's acreage is every State and Borough Owned Parcel between the coast and Sterling Highway.
