Welcome to Alaska's beautiful Chilkoot Lake State Recreation Site located on the southern shores of Chilkoot Lake about ten miles northeast from the town of Haines. This wonderful park is home to some of the best known Salmon fishing in southeast Alaska and has a season that spans from through October. Because of the high salmon population there are a high number of bear visitors in this park so please be educated in bear safety before coming. The park also features 80 campsites, a boat ramp, and a picnic area. Come out and explore!
