Welcome to Chena Lake Recreation Area. In the State of Alaska, one does not have to venture too far outside the city to enter the wilderness. This large park offers numerous recreational amenities while giving the visitor a feeling of tranquility. The 260 acre lake boasts two sandy beaches and is a good place for sailing. Some of the other amenities include the park's two campgrounds, one of which is only accessible by watercraft, three volleyball courts, miles of multipurpose trails for all seasons, boat rentals, and more. The park's waters are home to fish such as rainbow trout, northern pike, and salmon. Some of the wild animals that make their home in Chena Lake Recreation Area include bears, moose, wolves, foxes, squirrels, and many others. Come out and explore!
