Welcome to Alaska's beautiful Hatcher Pass East Management Area, a wilderness park located in the Talkeetna Mountains. This park is named for Robert Lee Hatcher who discovered gold in the region in 1906. The mines in the region stayed productive until the time of World War II when they were shut down. While explore many miles of multipurpose trails for all seasons one may encounter black bears, brown bears, bald eagles, moose, wolves, coyotes, or many others.
