Welcome to one of the largest privately owned nature preserves in the United States, Birmingham's beautiful Ruffner Mountain Park. In 1977 concerned local citizens fought hard to protect this land from becoming a residential complex and over the last 40 years the park has expanded many times. Some of the resident wildlife include white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, red-tailed hawks, and many others.
