Welcome to John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama. This is one of the city's largest and most popular recreation areas and like the city itself, was named for John Hunt.
The volleyball courts at John Hunt Park are sand courts and most of the athletic facilities are lighted.

*The following are prohibited in all city parks; alcoholic beverages, damaging park property including buildings, athletic facilities, trees, etc, golfing, weapons.
*The following activities require special permits; amplified sound, camping, climbing trees, conducting of sales, open-burning, operating of gas powered watercraft, soliciting, setting off fireworks, swimming, water-skiing.
*All animals must be leashed and waste removed.
*Brahan Spring Park lagoon is the only place where one may fish but possession of an Alabama State Fishing License is required.
*Unless otherwise posted, all parks open at sunrise and close an hour after sunset.
