Davidsonville Historic State Park is in Pocahontas, Arkansas. The Park was the location

of Arkansas' first post office and courthouse. Today, visitors can explore trails, learn

more about local history at the visitor's center, camp at any of the 20 sites, and fish in

the lake or river.

The Park backs the Black River and a fishing lake, making it a perfect place to go

fishing. The visitor center even has boat rentals! There are four trails that visitors can

explore: the Black River Trail, Historic Townsite Trail, Scott Cemetery Trail, and the

Trapper Lake Trail. Do note that you must check-in at the visitor center if you choose to

camp. You can make reservations up to a year in advance.

Be sure to check out the visitor center to see the 1820s hunter-trapper flatboat replica

and listen to the audio tour that gives more detail of the land's history!
