Welcome to Campbell Park located in Tempe, Arizona. This park was first dedicated in November 1994 and was named after Tempe's first mayor, Rudy Campbell. Campbell was born in Oklahoma and migrated westward with his family to Mesa, Arizona. During World War II he served in the United States Military. When he returned, he became a baker, councilman, and eventually mayor. Campbell is well renowned for his giving back to the community and was a member of Sun Angel Foundation and Arizona Board of Regents. He was Tempe's citizen of the year in 1958. Today this park in his memory boasts a volleyball court, a playground, and a picnic area with grills. Come out and have fun.
