Welcome to Armory Park in Tucson, Arizona. This park was once the site of Camp Lowell which was first established by the U.S. Army in 1866 to help the local residents. In 1913 the land was deeded to the State of Arizona and the state's first armory was constructed. Eventually a new armory was built elsewhere and the land became a city park in 1975. Today it still has a few historic monuments including memorials to the veterans of the Spanish American War as well as WWI and WWII.
