Cycling on Chicago's Lakefront Trail
Monday, August, 12, 2013

The Lakefront Trail in Chicago extends 18 miles from the south end in the South Shore neighborhood to the north end near the Edgewater neighborhood.  I rode from Hyde Park and he University of Chicago to Navy Pier to see the tall ships docked at the pier.  Navy Pier is about the half way point of the trail.  On the way back to Hyde Park, I stopped at Grant Park to see the Buckingham Fountain.  I also stopped at the Shedd Acquarium and Adler Planetarium.  There is too much to be seen to see everything in one day.

Marcus (shown above) was kind enough to take the GCSU wakeboard team out for a day of riding. He is allowing us to use the boat whenever we want as long as we continue to teach his 14 year old son new tricks. Our team will be riding in our first tournament of the year in September. It is people like this that allow us to continue to wakeboard and compete nationally; since our school does not provide a boat. We have been riding with Marcus for 3 weeks now and his son has learned so much throughout that time. It is awesome to be able to go out and teach our younger generation wakeboarding. I sure do wish I started wakeboarding when I was 14!

Hybrid Bass Run On Lake Oconee

It was March 22, 2012, when my phone rang at 4 am. Captain Chad Smith wants to know if I want to film a fishing show. Well, I like my sleep, but when Chad calls to do a fishing show, I don't pass it up. Chad is a well-known fishing guide on Lake Oconee for Catfish and Hybrid Bass. We have done several fishing shows together over the past 2 years and they always are a success. So, I met up with Chad about 5 am at a local marina and we set out to fish Lake Oconee. At the boat ramp, we met up with 2 fellows for Oklahoma and Alaska. Paul was from Alaska and Jason...Read More

    Big Cat Outdoors Saltwater Journal

On June 18, 2013, a new adventure began in my life when I left everything and all behind, in search of peace, harmony, and a new start fishing saltwater. There was no doubt in my mind, being 55 years old, that this was going to be easy. I was so used to the usual things that is became boring. That's when I said,"its time to get on with living". Big Cat Outdoors deserved a chance to really be something. The Woody Wood Fishing Show has produced over 75 shows, so here we are on the Georgia Coast, near Savannah, Georgia, meeting a new, unique group of people, who...Read More

Big Cat Outdoors and The Woody Wood Fishing Show awaits the annual return to the barrels on Lake Oconee at Wallace Dam. In 2010, The Woody Wood Fishing Show got its start filming its first of many shows at the barrels on Lake Oconee. Wallace Dam has ideal conditions for Post-Spawn Catfish during the late summer months of July through September. Sit back and let me tell you about some of our experiences catching trophy catfish and how we do it. I promise to have you loading up and setting out for memories of a lifetime at the barrels at Wallace Dam.

Dick's Creek Swimming Hole!
Saturday, July, 27, 2013
iceyt1981

Before I had my injury this summer, the Dick's Creek Swimming Hole was my favorite place to escape the Atlanta heat. In order to get there, you must travel GA 400/US 19 north of Atlanta. GA 400 ends in Dahlonega but U.S. 19 keeps going, follow the signs for U.S. 19 and it will take you into the mountains, after a while you will see a sign that says Chestatee Wildlife Management Area, take that gravel road for a few miles and you will arrive at the swimming hole.

Lake Sinclair Summer Blue Cat

Big Cat Outdoors

Big Cat Outdoors and The Woody Wood Fishing Show has some information for all you catfish anglers who fish Lake Sinclair. "Lake Sinclair Summer Blue Cat", was produced for TV in 2012. Generally speaking, Lake Sinclair is a "Sleeper" for catching trophy catfish. Being downstream from Lake Oconee and 4-years behind in population, as reported by Department of Wildlife Fisheries in Georgia in 2012, is not exactly accurate. In June, 2012, my wife and I detoured from Lake Oconee and fished Lake Sinclair just to see.

We launched our boat at Crooked Creek Marina because the water is deeper halfway in between the...Read More
