Angeles National Forest

Welcome to the Angeles National Forest, a mountainous oasis of over 650,000 acres located right outside bustling Los Angeles, the nation's second largest city. It serves as a backyard playground for many millions of people. In December 1892, the Angeles National Forest was established by executive order.
The forest has a wide range of elevations from as low as 1,200 feet ASL to as high as 10,064 feet ASL. Much of the vegetation is dense chaparral and pines and firs at the higher elevations. Angeles National Forest helps protect the home of numerous wild critters including squirrels, deer, coyotes, and many others. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors Angeles National forest boasts over 500 miles of multipurpose trails, numerous rivers and lakes for fishing, the Mt. Baldy ski resort, and so much more. Come on out and have a blast!
