California's Arthur B. Ripley Desert Woodland State Park helps protect one of the largest remaining stands of Joshua and Juniper trees in the region. The Joshua Tree was an important resource for the Native American's that inhabited this region for thousands of years. The tree got it's name from Mormon Settlers who thought that the tree's arms resembled Joshua leading his people to the promised land. The Joshua Tree is also the name of an album by the Band U2. Come out and explore the park.
