Welcome to California's beautiful Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park located in Big Sur, California on the western slope of the Santa Lucia Mountains.

Camping: The campground at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park has 189 campsites, some for tents and others for RV's and trailers. There is a maximum length of 27 feet for trailers and 32 feet for motor homes. Dump Stations and bathhouses are located nearby. For those who would rather sleep indoors the park does have one cabin.

Trails: There are several miles of trails at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. 

The Buzzard's Roost Trail is a 3 mile round trip where you will gain 750 feet in elevation and see some marvelous views of the Pacific Ocean, Santa Lucia Mountains, and Sycamore Canyon.

The Nature Trail is about three quaters of a mile long and is ranked as an easy hike.

The River Path and Warden's Path Trail is just over half a mile long and is ADA and stroller accessible and follows the banks of the Big Sur River. The Valley View and Pfeiffer Falls Trail is a moderately difficult two mile roundtrip where one gains about 200 feet in elevation when they arrive at the Valley View Overlook where one can see Big Sur Valley and even nearby Andrew Molera State Park.

The Big Sur River Gorge Trail is a half mile round trip where one can actually wade in the river. CAUTION! There are slippery surfaces, loose rocks, and unstable soils in this area that can create hazardous conditions. Do not jump or dive into the river.

The Mount Manuel Trail is a challenging 8 mile that links up to trails in the nearby Los Padres National Forest. On this hike one can catch nice views of the Santa Lucia Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

The Pine Ridge Trail is a challening 23 mile one way hike. 10 miles into the hike one will arrive at Sykes Hot Springs where one can camp for the night.
