Welcome to Bogart Park located near Beaumont, California.
Park History: Back in 1930, the city of Beaumont and the Beaumont Rotary Club held the nation's first Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival. The successful festival drew over 32,000 people and sparked Rotary Club President Dr. Guy Bogart to look for a more suitable location for future festivals. He found a great location just north of Beaumont on 200 acres of land owned by the Beaumont Irrigation District as well as 80 acres of land that were on the market. Bogart then had a vision of a large county park located on this beautiful piece of land dotted with trees. In order to make his dream a reality Bogart teamed up with local businessmen and convince the Irrigation District to lease out it's 200 acres and for Riverside County to purchase the 80 acres of land for sale. $2500 was needed to purchase the 80 acres but then the Great Depression struck and the county simply could not afford it. They had however, given Bogart their word that as soon as they could afford it, they would make the purchase. Bogart was impatient and instead encouraged 25 local businessmen to each donate $100 and the land was purchased.
Today this park boasts multipurpose trails, a campground with both developed sites and primitive ones, and a picnic area. Come on out and explore.
