Welcome to Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area located in El Sobrante, California.

Park History: This park has a long history that includes wheat harvesting, ranches, and even a segment of railroad connecting Oakland and Orinda. In 1823 the land was owned by Francisco Castro and later became the site of the Clancy Ranch. The California Nevada Railroad had stops here in 1886 and some of the park's picnic areas are named for these stops. This park was established on October 22, 1967 and named in memory of President Kennedy exactly 3 years and 11 months after his assassination.
