Don Castro Regional Recreation Area

Welcome to Don Castro Regional Recreation Area, a small urban oasis located between the towns of Hayward and Castro Valley. This park's lagoon is a favorite swimming destination with Alameda County residents. The lagoon was created in 1964 by the Alameda Flood Control and Water Conservation District. Don Castro Regional Recreation Area helps protect the home of numerous wild critters including deer, raccoons, ducks, turtles, and frogs. Please treat their home with respect. Come on out and have a blast!
