Welcome to Standish Hickey State Recreation Area located at the southern end of California's world famous redwood forest. What started off as a 40 acre campground in 1922 was expanded in the late 1950's when a member of the Standish Family donated 500 acres. Over the years additional donations have brought the park to it's present day size of over 1,000 acres. Hikers come here from miles around to explore over 10 miles of trails and a two mile stretch of South Fork of the Eel River attracts paddlers from miles around. Come out and explore.
