Welcome to Leland Stanford Park in Sacramento, California. Like the University in Palo Alto, this park is named for a railroad tycoon who served as the 8th Governor of California from 1862 to 1863 and served California in the United States senate from 1885 until he passed away in 1893.
Sacramento California Park Ordinances
*Unless otherwise posted all parks open at dawn and close at dusk.
*The following are prohibited; alcoholic beverages (except during special occasions), defacing public property, harming wildlife, littering, weapons.
*The following are only allowed in designated areas; fires, golfing, horseback riding, motor vehicles, swimming.
*The following require special permits; camping, sales.
*Unless engaging in the care, custody, or supervision of a person younger than the ages of 18, all persons ages 18 and up are prohibited from being at the playgrounds.
*All dogs must be leashed (no longer than 6 feet) and waste removed.
*All users of the skate parks must wear helmet and pads.
