Welcome to Patrick's Point State Park, a forested preserve on the Pacific Coast in Trinidad, California. Long before the first European settlers arrived in the region the Yurok Native American tribe inhabited this area and it was prime fishing and gathering ground for them. In the mid 19th century the gold rush settlers brought many diseases that reduced the Yurok's numbers. The park itself was first established in 1929. Some of the park's many wild creatures include sea lions, migrating whales, bears, and black tailed deer.
