Welcome to Wapato Park located on the shores of Wapato Lake in Tacoma, Washington. The park's lake was formed by glacial retreat thousands of years ago and the park itself was first established in 1920 and to this day the lake is stocked with trout each year making it a great place for fishing. One can also bring their dog to the off-leash area or explore the trails.

This piece of land was once a section of Spanaway Lake until it was purchased by the City of Tacoma in 1893 which ultimately converted it into a city park in 1905. Today it's a major attraction boasting a water playground, gardens, access to the Water Ditch Recreation Trail, and much more. Come out and have fun.
