Welcome to Cherry Creek State Park located in the Rocky Mountain foothills of Suburban Denver near the town of Aurora, Colorado. This is one of the larger and more popular recreation areas in the Denver area.

Park History: The dam at Cherry Creek State Park was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1950 in order to help protect Suburban Denver from flooding. Cherry Creek State Park was established in 1959.

Wildlife: Cherry Creek State Park helps protect the home of numerous wild critters including deer, foxes, coyotes, rabbits, and numerous bird species. Please treat their home with respect.

For the lover of the outdoors Cherry Creek State Park boasts a swimming beach, miles of multipurpose trails, a remote control aircraft park, and so much more. Come on out and explore.
