Welcome to Colorado's beautiful Spinney Mountain State Park located high in the Rocky Mountains West of Colorado Springs. The reservoir itself is 2,500 acres in size and has fantastic trout fishing. Come out and do some fishing or enjoy the magnificent mountain views.

Park History: For thousands of years before the arrival of the first Europeans in the region the Ute Native Americans occupied the land. In 1859 the Colorado Gold Rush brought many European settlers to the region and many of the natives were driven out. The arrival of the railroads in the late 19th and early 20th centuries brought even more settlers as the regions mineral and timber resources were harvested. In the early 1980's the reservoir was created in order to provide drinking water for the City of Aurora and the park was first established in July of 1982.
