Welcome to Lakewood's second largest recreation area, the magnificent William Frederick Hayden Park on Green Mountain. There are many miles of multipurpose trails in this park and views of the city to the east as well as the mountains to the west. Some of the resident wildlife include black bears, mountain lions, and white-tailed deer. The summit of Green Mountain itself is 6,800 feet above sea level. This park was first established in 1982.
Lakewood Park Rules
*Swimming, ice-fishing, and ice-skating are prohibited on all park lakes.
*Horses are only allowed on designated equestrian trails.
*All parks open at 5am and close at 10pm unless otherwise designated by the Director of Community Resources.
*All motorized vehicles must stay on streets or in designated parking areas.
*The following are all prohibited, harrassing or feeding wildlife, glass objects, golfing, flying remote control aircraft.
*With the exception of 3.2 beer, consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
*All dogs must be leashed and waste removed.
