Carr Park

Welcome to Carr Park located in Longmont, Colorado not far from Northridge Elementary School.

Park History: Carr Park was first established in 1978 and was named in honor of Byron Leander Carr and his wife Mary Lord Pease Carr. Mr. Carr was a lawyer and school teacher who first settled in Longmont back in 1871 just a few years before Colorado gained Statehood. Once Colorado joined the Union Mr. Carr rose up and served on the Colorado Constitutional Convention and later served as the State Attorney General. Like her husband, Mrs. Carr taught in Longmont's first school, and like her husband, she became active in politics as well. She eventually became the first woman to serve on the Longmont School board before becoming President of the board.

Today this park boasts restrooms, a picnic shelter with grills, a handicapped accessible playground for the kids, one roller hockey rink, four basketball courts, four tennis courts, and so much more. With the exception of the ball diamond all of the athletic facilities are lighted so people can play at night. Come on out and have a blast!
