Welcome to Connecticut's Macedonia Brook State Park located near Kent.

Park History: The first known inhabitants of the land that is Macedonia Brook State Park were the Scatacook Native American tribe. In 1738 some of the first European settlers arrived in the region and managed to coexist peacefully with the tribe for some time. In the 19th century much of the land was used commercially for the production of grist, cider, iron, and sawmills. Remains of one of the original ironing forges can still be seen inside the park today. In 1918 the land was generously donated to the State of Connecticut by the White Memorial Foundation and the Civilian Conservation Corps worked hard over the years to make improvements to the park.

For the lover of the outdoors Macedonia Brook State Park boasts a hiking trail with views of the Catskill and Taconic mountains, 51 campsites, and much more. Come on out and explore.
