Like the forest's name implies, four creeks flow through it, the Boggy, Thomas, Alligator, and Plummer Creeks which are the headwaters of the Nassau River. Four Creeks State Forest gives home to numerous animals such as alligators, snapping turtles, blue herons, white-tailed deer, foxes, black bears, peregrine falcons, red-tailed hawks, wild-turkeys, and gopher tortoises.
