Welcome to John N. McPherson Park located in Jacksonville, Florida. This small urban park was once park of a bigger park known as Springfield Park, which was founded at the turn of the 20th century after the Springfield Company donated some land to the City of Jacksonville. In 1990 this land was seperated from Springfield park and became it's own little park known as Gateway Park. In 2004, the City of Jacksonville renamed the site in honor of a man who served his country in the navy for nearly 30 years and fought in three different wars, John N. McPherson. Today this park has picnic tables. Come out and enjoy the scenery.
