Welcome to Lower Wekiva River Preserve State Park in Sanford, Florida. For thousands of years this land was prime hunting and fishing ground for Native Americans. Today it helps protect wildlife habitat for alligators, black bears, otters, sandhill cranes, and many others. This park was first established in 1976 but a couple of purchases in the mid-90's helped link it up to the Ocala National Forest.
