Welcome to Chaplain J.D. Hamel Park in Sarasota, Florida, a suburb of Tampa. This park is home to the bronze Sarasota War Memorial and the Doughboy Statue, which is a statue of a WWI Veteran known as the "Spirit of the American Doughboy." The War Memorial was dedicated in 1928 and the statue 70 years later in 1998.

*The following are only allowed in designated areas; fires, golfing, motor vehicles.
*The following require special permits; archery, flying remote control aircraft, planting.
*All dogs must be leashed and waste removed.
