Welcome to Withlacoochee State Forest, Florida's third largest State Forest located near the Gulf Coast in Central Florida. Several waterways flow through the forest including Jumper Creek, Little Withlacoochee River, and Withlacoochee River. The World Wildlife Fund has designated this forest as "10 Coolest Places You've Never Been in North America." Flora and Fauna: Withlacoochee State Forest helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the plants that grow inside the forest boundaries include bald cypresses, slash pines, longleaf pines, and pond cypresses. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include gray foxes, white-tailed deer, fox squirrels, rabbits, gray squirrels, gopher tortoises, bald eagles, and wild turkeys. Please treat their home with respect. For the lover of the outdoors Withlacoochee State Forest boasts a 2,600 acre motorcycle and ATV area, miles of multipurpose trails, several campsites, and so much more. Come on out and have a blast!
