Welcome to the beautiful Laura S. Walker State Park located in Waycross, Georgia on the northern edge of the Okefennokee Swamp. This is Georgia's first state park to be named for a woman. Laura Singleton Walker was a teacher and civic leader who was a very active member of her community. She fought hard for land conservation. Today this park helps protect habitat for alligators, gopher tortoises, black bears, raccoons, white-tailed deer, and many others.

Camping: Laura S. Walker State Park boasts 39 sites for both tents and trailers. For those who would rather sleep indoors there are 6 cabins. Come out and stay a few nights.
