Pearl Harbor National Wildlife Refuge
Welcome to Pearl Harbor National Wildlife Refuge, located at the historic site where the Japanese Navy bombed the U.S. Pacific Fleet pushing the U.S. into World War II.
History: Pearl Harbor National Wildlife Refuge, a man-made wetland refuge created to provide habitat for creatures displaced by the expansion of the Honolulu airport.
Flora and Fauna: Pearl Harbor National Wildlife Refuge helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the plants that grow inside the refuge boundaries include the akoko and endangered species such as the ewa hina hina. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include Hawaiian ducks and Hawaiian moorhens. Please treat their home with respect. Due to the fragility of the ecosystem this refuge is not open to the public.
