Welcome to Wapsipinicon State Park located on the banks of the Wapsipinicon River near Anamosa, Iowa. This is one of Iowa's older state parks having been first established in 1923. There are many miles of multipurpose trails to be explored and cyclists will like the fact that this park has access to the Northeast State Park Bike Route which connects to other nearby recreation areas including Pikes Peak State Park. One will also like Horse Thief Cave which legend has it got it's name due to two horse thieves who used the area as their hideout. There is also an "Ice Cave" which is a good place to escape the summer heat.
