Welcome to Gray's Lake Park located on the shores of Gray's Lake and the Raccoon River in Des Moines, Iowa. This large beautifull community park is one of the most popular in the Des Moines Region and is home to the 167 acre Gray's Lake which was formerly a sand and gravel quarry that was operated by a man named Gaylord Gray, for whom the park and lake are named. Today it is a lake filled with water and fish and circumnavigated by a two mile multipurpose trail. Don't have your own boat? No problem, there are boat rentals here at Gray's Lake Park. People can rent a kayak, a canoe, or even a sailboat for as low as $10 an hour. One can also come out to enjoy ice-skating in the winter, the swimming beach, a picnic shelter with grills, and so much more.

*Conducting any organized event in any city park requires that one obtain special permission from the city.
*The following are all prohibited, consumption of alcoholic beverages is strictly forbidden in any city park, littering, defacing of public property, glass objects.
*All burning is restricted to BBQ grills.
*All parks open at 6 a.m. and close 30 minutes past dusk.
*The following activities are only allowed in designated areas; boating, flying remote-controlled aircraft, golfing, swimming.
