James W. Cownie Soccer Park

James W. Cownie Soccer Park is a large athletic park located in Des Moines, Iowa. It has a dozen irrigated soccer fields over an area of 60 acres. Since it first opened in the Spring of 1998 it has been used by tens of thousands of people.

When visiting any park in Des Moines, Iowa please respect the rules. 

*Conducting any organized event in any city park requires that one obtain special permission from the city.

*The following are all prohibited, consumption of alcoholic beverages is strictly forbidden in any city park, littering, defacing of public property, glass objects.

*All burning is restricted to BBQ grills. 

 *All parks open at 6 a.m. and close 30 minutes past dusk. 

*The following activities are only allowed in designated areas; boating, flying remote-controlled aircraft, golfing, swimming.
