Welcome to Stone State Park located on the banks of the Big Sioux River in Sioux City, Iowa. One of the park's more unique features is the great Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center with over two miles of hiking trails as well as a 400 gallon aquarium. It is a popular field trip destination for local school students.

Park History: The park is located in the Loess Hill country of Iowa. These hills were formed by glacial retreat at the end of the last ice age thousands of years ago. The park is named for the last man to own the land, Thomas Jefferson Stone. The Civilian Conservation Corps helped build many of the park's facilities.

Camping: The campground has 30 sites and 10 with electrical hookups.

Wildlife: The park is home to many wild animals including wild turkeys, coyotes, red foxes, and white tailed deer. Come out for some wildlife viewing.
