Welcome to the Salmon-Challis National Forest located in eastern Idaho. This forest boasts the largest Wilderness Area in the lower 48 States, the 1.8 million acre Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area as well as Borah Peak, the tallest mountain in Idaho at 12,668 feet.
Wildlife: Salmon-Challis National Forest helps protect the home of numerous wild critters including deer, bears, raccoons, squirrels, coyotes, and foxes. Please treat their home with respect.
