Welcome to Night Heron Marsh Forest Preserve, an oasis of wetlands and prairie located in Aurora, Illinois. The land that is now Night Heron Marsh Forest Preserve was once used for agricultural purposes. Today it helps protect wildlife habitat in a rapidly growing suburban Chicago community. Some of the wild animals that live here include blue herons, black crowned night herons, egrets, kingfishers, raccoons, and squirrels. Please treat their home with respect.
