Aurora Illinois Trails
Located on the banks of Waubonsie Creek, Oakhurst Wetlands Park is a beautiful nature preserve in Aurora, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. It is a great bird-watching place. Some of the resident wildlife include red-tailed hawks, blue herons, owls, turtles, white-tailed deer, and many others.
When visiting any park maintained by the Fox Valley Park District please be aware of the park rules.
*Unless otherwise posted all parks and facilities open at dawn and close at dusk.
*Please respect all park property including buildings, athletic amenities, trees, bushes, benches, etc.
*All vehicles must stay in designated areas and obey all State of Illinois traffic laws.
*All burning must remain in the picnic grills.
*All animals must be leashed (no longer than 10 feet) and waste removed. Animals must remain off of athletic fields.
*Please do not torment or harrass park wildlife.
*Unless otherwise posted, fishing in the parks is allowed but a State of Illinois fishing license is required.
*Drugs, alcoholic beverages, weapons, and explosives are prohibited.
*Please do not trespass onto bordering private property.
*The following activities are prohibited on park property; panhandling, engaging in boisterous or threatening behavior, any sexual act, use of foul language.
*No littering. Please place all trash in proper containers.
*All watercraft must stay in designated areas and abide by the rules posted.
*Except for those with disabilities, all persons ages 4 and up must use the restroom of their designated sex.
*Bicycles must remain in designated areas and yield to all pedestrians.
*Snowmobiles are prohibited.
