Welcome to Rend Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area, a sprawling preserve of lakes and forests located off of Interstate 57 near Bonnie, Illinois.

Preserve History: Rend Lake itself was built with the cooperate efforts of the State of Illinois, the Rend Lake Conservancy District, and the U.S Army Corps of Engineers in order to create a water reservoir for the two-county region. Construction started in 1965 and was completed in the early 1970's.

Wildlife: This preserve protects the habitat of wild critters including deer, squirrels, rabbits, quails, and waterfowl. Please treat their home with respect.

For the lover of the outdoors this preserve boasts 19 boat ramps and numerous campsites. This is a very popular hunter's and angler's destination. Come on out and explore.
