Welcome to Rice Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area, a sprawling wetland oasis located in Fulton County near the Illinois River.

Preserve History: The first 2,370 acres of land were purchased by the State of Illinois in 1945 in order to serve as a refuge for migratory waterfowl. Additional tracts were purchased over the years bringing the preserve to it's present size of 5,660 acres.

Today this preserve is a popular destination for hunters and anglers and offers 32 campsites. Come on out and explore.

32 of the campsites have electrical hookups. To contact the park office please call 309-647-9184.
