Sanganois State Fish and Wildlife Area

Activities:
Hiking

Welcome to Sanganois State Fish and Wildlife Area, a sprawling wetland oasis located in Schuyler County near Chandlerville.

Preserve History: Before these lands were purchased by the State of Illinois they were owned by various hunting clubs, the largest of which was the Sanganois Gun Club. The first 2700 acres were purchased from the gun club in 1948 and additional tracts were purchased in 1957, 1964, and 1970 bringing the site to it's present day acreage of 10,360 acres.

Public access to this preserve is relatively restricted and groups of 25 people or more must register in advance and all pets must be leashed at all times. Come on out and explore.

To contact the park office please call 309-546-2628.
