Welcome to Chicago's Abbott Park located in the West Chesterfield neighborhood. This park was first established in 1949 and was one of many that were established in order to meet the growing recreational needs of the post World War II era. The park is named for an early 20th century African-American attorney named Robert Abbott. The park's community center offers many programs for kids year round from after school programs, to summer daycamp, to youth sports. All the ball fields are lighted so people can play at night.
