Welcome to Chicago's Clarendon Park located in uptown Chicago. This park as well as it's community center boasts numerous recreational opportunities including an indoor gym and exercise room as well as numerous athletic leagues. Outside there is a sprayground for hot days, a basketball court, tennis courts, two softball fields, and more. Clarendon Park, as well as the street on which it sits and the neighboring Hyde Park neighborhood, is named after 17th century English Statements Edward Hyde, the first Earl of Clarendon. In it's earlier days, Clarendon Park stretched all the way to Lake Michigan but that land has since become a part of Lincoln Park. At the time it did have lakeshore it boasted a popular urban swimming beach that was modeled after similar beaches in New York City and Detroit.
