Welcome to Chicago's Cooper Park located in the Roseland neighborhood. The city first purchased this land in 1966 with assistance from the Federal Government but it took nearly a decade to turn it into a city park. The park is named for Jack Cooper, the first African-American radio personality in United States history. Cooper was also a notable athlete and active member of his local community.
