Welcome to Dan Ryan Woods Forest Preserve located in the Windy City of Chicago, Illinois. On snowy winter days many people come here to go sledding or cross-country skiing. Come out and explore the multipurpose trails.

Cook County Forest Preserve Ordinances

*No littering! Please help keep the preserves clean by disposing of all trash in proper containers.

*Glass containers and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

*All pets must be leashed at all times except when in the dog parks.

*Please do not disturb, feed, or capture wildlife. Removal of plants is also strictly forbidden.

*Swimming is prohibited in all natural lakes and waterways.

*All equestrians must be licensed and stay on designated trails.

*All cyclists must yield to hikers and pedestrians.

*Fishing is only allowed in designated areas.

Please respect the forest preserves and have a safe adventure.
