Dougherty Playground Park
Activities:
Baseball
Welcome to Chicago's Dougherty Playground Park. This piece of land was first purchased by the South East Little League to be used as a baseball facility in 1953. In 1970 the league generously donated the land to the City of Chicago on the condition that the land remain as a park and that the league still have access to the baseball facilities. This park was named for State Senator Daniel Dougherty who served on the Park District for over two decades. Today this park's baseball facilities are still here. Come on out and hit a homer!
