Welcome to Chicago's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park located in the Auburn Gresham section. This park was first established in 1969 about a year after King died and was known for years as Hawthorne Park but was renamed in 2004 in honor of a man who was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929, fought many battles against prejudice, and passed away on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.
