Welcome to Chicago's marvelous Euclid Park located in the Washington Heights Community just north of Interstate 57. This history of Euclid Park dates back to the roaring 1920's at a time when there was a building boom in the region. The local Fernwood Park district decided to purchase this piece of land before a builder did and turned it into a neighborhood park. Funding was limited, but the local community pitched in some donations and over five and a half acres were purchased. Over the years the local community also volunteered their building supplies to help build the park's amenities. The park is named for the ancient Greek mathematician who wrote "The Elements." In 1932 the Fernwood Park district along with 21 other local park districts merged into the Chicago Park District. Today this park has two basketball courts, two tennis courts, a sprayground for hot summer days, and much more. Come out and have fun!
